Superior Products and Services Through Quality Assurance

Caldera maintains a quality management system in full compliance with ISO 9001 (download certificate here). We strive to continually improve and make high quality products that exceed our customers’ expectations.

Material Inspection

Before material is purchased a vendor must first pass our ISO compliant vendor approval process. Procured materials are thoroughly inspected and reviewed. As these products move from receiving to manufacturing, we verify they comply with industry standards (e.g.: ASTM, ASME, etc.), as well as our own rigorous inspection requirements. Ceramic components are liquid penetrant tested internally to assure they meet our demanding level of quality. When required, we conduct other tests, either in-house or through certified third parties (e.g.: ultrasound, x-ray, positive material identification, etc.).

Quality Control in Manufacturing

We meticulously perform quality functions throughout Caldera’s manufacturing process. Measuring tools and gauges are calibrated on a regular basis using equipment that is traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), enabling us to verify that all of our measurements are accurate. We carefully factory test each valve for functionality and accuracy. Pressure equipment is hydro-tested in accordance with industry standards. Customer requirements are carefully incorporated into the manufacturing process to ensure that the quality required is achieved.

Quality Documentation

Each part manufactured at Caldera is tracked by serial number and/or heat code. This traceability provides a history of the part. Our process allows us to accommodate customer documentation requirements. Caldera’s comprehensive quality management system documentation provides a clear picture of the part’s history.

European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (PED)

Caldera has experience manufacturing and CE marking equipment in accordance with the European Pressure Equipment Directive. Historically, we have maintained a quality management system in accordance with PED Module H. We are very familiar with the requirements of the Directive and know how to produce parts that fully comply.
